Yes. Hyperion is free and open-source under the MIT license. Every desktop release, CLI binary, and core capability is free to use with no hidden telemetry.
The desktop application checks for signed releases on Windows and macOS. On Linux, you can update via AppImage, .deb package, or your distribution package manager.
Yes. The entire workspace environment — including your isolated project sidebars, PTY terminal grid, Kanban task boards, prompt forge, and Git worktrees — runs 100% locally. For AI coding agents, point Hyperion at local models via Ollama, LM Studio, or vLLM to work completely offline with zero data leaving your machine.
Hyperion supports Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Mistral, Google Gemini, and any local or self-hosted OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM). API keys are encrypted and stored solely on your local device.
The macOS Universal build runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs. If you prefer a smaller file size for an Apple Silicon Mac, select the arm64 .dmg installer.
